Excerpt of text: "It's about using the opportunities that exist, you have to be open to new solutions at all times. Here you have to create what you want to build yourself; you don't get anything for free. There has also been a change over here, it's more about money and it's more expensive to live here. As an artist, it's therefore important that you are yourself, whether you're in New York or Bergen, says Torild Stray.
On May 20, the exhibition Transformations opens at Langegården Gallery, an exhibition that shows a selection of paintings from 1998–2006. In collaboration with architect Morten Ramm, she has also taken on the outdoor and indoor areas at Langegården.
The outdoor area will be more of a contrast to the exhibition itself, says Stray, who has obtained over 500 pairs of shoes for the installation. She also plans to let sound images from New York merge with those she hears in Bergen. But the focus will be on the approximately 30 images that will be exhibited. – It is always a challenge and at the same time powerful to see the images in a new way in new spaces. That can also show whether they "survive."
