In the long, silent months of Covid-19, I wandered the empty city after dark, returning each day to the vast stillness of my factory studio. The world had narrowed into distance, masks, and the quiet presence of death. This painting, born from a nighttime walk, is a selfie with a lone tree in a graveyard—a quiet witness to a time when everything felt fragile and strangely suspended.
